WHAT DO YOU GET?
SAMPLES
A lecture and discussion on the development of samples. We discuss which VST’s we use to produce high quality sounds, as well as VSTs used for mixing and sound design. We also discuss the elements of music theory that make trap, hip-hop, and contemporary pop music, and how to bring a sample together by instilling creativity through mixing and sound design.

BEATS
We examine the addition of drums and rhythm sections to samples, as well as the compositional elements of arranging a sample into a “beat”. We explore the arranging of beats into the best suitable forms for contemporary music in both the Hip-Hop and Pop music genres. We discuss compositional techniques to make beats that perform best in the modern music scene.

NETWORKING & BUSINESS
An in depth discussion of the music business and how to effectively network in the modern Hip-Hop and Pop music space by utilizing social media, emailing, and other internet tools to effectively communicate to other producers, composers, and recording artists in order to generate sales as a producer and increase your musical outreach.

MIXING WITH MENJU
An overview of mixing vocals in modern music, including the usage of VSTs for equalizing, compressing, and adding depth and clarity to vocal performances over modern Hip-Hop and Pop production. This in depth look into mixing will provide clarity to producers on how to best incorporate recording artists onto their beats in order to shop fully finished works to their audiences.

BEAT REVIEW
All panelists and guest panelists give workshop attendants an in-depth analysis and review of their beats, samples, or full songs. We analyze what the attendants are doing right in their production as well as scrutinizing flaws or mistakes in their production or songwriting in order to better hone each attendants musical intuition and understanding.

PICS & NETWORKING
All attendants are invited to speak with the panelists personally for pictures or any final remarks. Workshop attendants are also invited to network with each other and join our social media groups to stay connected after the workshop.
